Regional Development: The role of culture and creative industry in regional development? Part 1

When debating regional development in the Arctic, sustainability for the many small and vulnerable societies is a key objective. Arts and culture are some of the main factors when understanding the a ractiveness of life in the Arctic, and should be a priority when developing the Arctic region. Enhancing and understanding northern culture as an important factor of the regional development may provide business opportunities for other industries such as retail and tourism, while at the same time increase the a ractiveness of the region for the locals.
